KTM Duke 200 Bike

Overview of KTM Duke 200 bike

KTM duke 200 bike is simply and stylish looking. Overview of Bajaj acquiring majority stake in the Astrain bikemaker KTM. It was a matter of time since the bikemker made its foray into our market and indian Two Wheeler enthusiasts were waiting with bated breath. KTM didn't disappoint as it rode in the 200 duke which was its first offering for india. This bike was a step in the right direction as it was a good combination of performance, features and good pricing and awesome looking.
It was launched with only one colour option Orange. But on demand and feedback from customers KTM has launched two new colours 1. White 2. Black.
                 I

  • petrol mileage : 35 Kmpl
  • top speed(Km/h) : 140
  • engine CC : 199.5 cc
  • power : 25 PS
The KTM Duke 200 bike was very sharp and edgy lines in conjunction with brash styling meant that the bike was a huge hit among the youngsters who were blown away by its raw appeal. The sculpted fuel tank, petite tail section, split seats, exposed trellis frame, under belly exhaust and the lack of any bodywork made the KTM duke 200 stand apart from its rivals.

And the fact that it was introduced in a flashy shade of orange further hiked its appeal. The bike employs an all digital instument console that houses a plethora of information and is among the best in the segment.

But the cluttered layout means that it isn't easy to read on the go. Switch gear has been sourced from Bajaj vendors and is impressive. And Fit and finish is decent overall but expects better quality overall from a european bikemaker.

And powering the bike is a 199.5cc displacement motor belting out 26PS of power. Performance is among the highlghts of the KTM 200 Duke as the 130kg kerb weight endows it with an impressive power to weight ratio. The motor is free revving and has a typical exhaust not and cruissive speeds above 100kmph doesn;t take any effort barring for the wind blast. The powerplant is mated to a 6 SPEED gearbox that functions aply while the gear ratios aren't ideal for crawling city traffic. Handling of the bike is impressive as it tips into corner at the drop of a heart and thrashing the bike around twistis is a joy. The lively handling can be credited to the trellis frame. Ride quality is on the stiffer side as handling has been given preference over comfort and the upside down forks and monoshock unti have been stiffy sprung.
The KTM 200 duke bike is a great option for someone who is looking for a commuter bike on weekdays and prefers to go bonkers on the race track in weekends.

The KTM promotes the instrument console of Duke as cockpit which features a digital speedmeter, trip meter, odometer and fuel gauge. This cockpit also has some LED indicators. The bike uses ornge coloured back light in its instrument console. The instrument console is not easily readable and apart from its speedometer, we will have to search for other things in it as it compromises on space.

Engine and Gearbox

The KTM 200 duke bike uses a single cylinder liquid cooled 200cc engine. This 4 stroke, DOHC engine is very powerful as it chums out a maximum power output of 25 bhp at 1000 rpm. The torque output of this engine is 19.2 Nm which is available at 8000 rpm. The bike is equipped with a six speed manual gearbox with  one gear down and five gear up shift pattern.

Price

The KTM 200 duke bike cost is INR 1,42,000 {New Delhi}. At this price it seems to be little overpriced for a 200cc bike but 200 duke is awesome in terms of looks and stylish and is also a very powerfull 200cc.

And the high  mounted handle bar and digital instrument  console provide stability  and apprise the rider of important bike parameters.  A dual  tone front mud  guard prevents splashes of water or dirt from reaching the rider and both for the rider, comfortable foot pegs and pillion rider, enhance riding pleasure.

TheAudi  A3 sadan benefits from Audi's expertise in the field of lightweight  construction and the lightest version tips the scale at just 2,755 pounds thanks to a body  made largely of hot-formed steel and an aluminum hood. It shares its modular  MQB platform  with the Europe-only A3 hatchback and several  other Volkswagen products including the seventh-gen Golf.

Life Aboard

The A3 Sedan is fitted with a clean, uncluttered dashboard that puts a strong emphasis on function. The highlights include understated styling elements such as chrome-ringed air vents and a simple instrument cluster made up of four analog gauges. And the smallest member of the Audi family can carry five adults and up to 15 cubic feet of cargo.
The A3 Sedan  can be ordered with Audi's MMI infotainment system at an extra cost. MMI groups the car's entertainment, connectivity and navigation (if equipped) functions into single operating system controlled by either a knob and a series of buttons  found on the center console or a voice recognition function. The centerpiece of the system is a high-definition color screen mounted on top of the dashboard. Another notable  high-tech feature offered  on the A3 Sedan is Audi connect, a software that provides a Wi-Fi connection and lets passengers find places of interest, travel information, weather reports, fuel prices and even access satellite images from Google Earth.

Under the Hood

The Audi A3 Sedan is available with two four-cylinder gasoline-burning TFSI engines. Both engines run exclusively on premium unleaded. Alternatively, buyers can order a segment-exclusive TDI turbodiesel four-cylinder engine.
With a displacement of 1.8-liters, the smaller unit sends 170 horsepower and 200 lb-ft. of torque to the front wheels via a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. The sprint from zero to 60 mph takes 7.2 seconds and top speed is reached at 130 mph. And the larger 2.0-liter mill generates 220  horsepower and 258 lb-ft. of torque,  enabling the A3 to reach 60 mph from a stop in 5.8  seconds. Power is transferred to  all four wheels via the same   six-speed dual-clutch transmission that is linked to the smaller engine. The fuel  economy for the 1.8-liter is rated at 23/33 city/highway mpg, while the 2.0-liter is actually slightly more efficient at 24/33 mpg. The third engine option is a 2.0-liter TDI turbodiesel  unit that generates 150 horsepower between 3,500 and 4,000 rpms and  236 lb-ft. of torque from 1,750 to 3,000 rpms. It  sends the A3 from zero to 60 mph in 8.1 seconds and returns 31 mpg in the city and an impressive 43 mpg on the highway.  It is bolted to a six-speed dual-clutch transmission that  spins the front wheels only.

TVS Apache RTR 2004V

TVS Apache RTR 2004V Bike_Editorial Review

This is the latest performance motorcycle from TVS Motor and, in turn, becoming the flagship model of the Chennai-based company. And the best looking  Apache till date, the design is a beautiful extension of  the RTR series along with important cues from  the Draken concept (shown in 2014 Auto Expo). With an aggressive looking headlight assembly and  LED DRLs on, it looks  sophisticated and menacing at the same time. The fuel tank is the most aggressively designed unit till date with sharp and edgy tank extensions  sporting ‘Apache  RTR’ moniker. The seats are another aesthetically designed pieces, with a split  setup for the rider and pillion. The grab-rails are beautiful, yet practical, and so is the LED tail light which looks nothing like  in previous Apache  motorcycles. And the overall build quality, fit and  finish of various parts is  extremely impressive and in 5 new different  matt  colours,

This is the most stunning and  aggressive looking  motorcycle from TVS so far. The engine is all-new and the ‘4V’ stands  for 4-Valves. The 200cc engine  is a race-derived O3C unit (Oil-cooled Combustion Chamber)  and is fed either  by a Bosch-Closed Loop fuel injection system or a Keihin CV carburetor. The Carburetor-fed engine produces 20.5PS of maximum power at 8500RPM while the FI variant produces slightly higher 21PS at the same 8500RPM.  Also, the torque output is same in both Carb & FI engines  which is 18.1NM at 7000RPM. For the first time in a TVS engine, the cylinder has 4 valves and is cooled by oil-cooling technology.Although, it remains  largely air-cooled. It is the smoothest  RTR engine by far with some vibrations coming up only around 8000RPM. With more power comes better acceleration, and the new RTR races from 0 to 60 in just 3.9 seconds (3.95 for the Carb) and in just 12 seconds to the  100. Combined  all this with a 5-speed gearbox and you’ve got the quickest  and fastest Apache RTR ever built by TVS with a top speed of 129km/h. However, the safety is paramount as well and both petal discs at front and  rear are aided by optional ABS. Not just that, since the tagline  says “Every day Is Race Day”, the RTR 200 has a Lap-Timer and Top Speed indicators in the fully digital console unit. These are important information because the new frame, which TVS calls,  the Double Cradle Split Synchro Stiff  Frame  along with mono-shock  at the rear provide sporty and  involving  handling characteristics. And when it's time to hit a race track, the Lap Timer would come in handy  to see how fast you’ve been through the circuit. The Apache RTR 200 4V is TVS’s best so far and gives us a glimpse  of even more exciting motorcycles in the future.

New "BMW" G310R Revealed_made in INDIA

  • The bike has been completely designed and engineered by BMW in Munich, Germany and this one has been built solely to increase the company's global market share.
  • And this is a big boost for the Indian market. this will be the first bike from the "BMW" motorrard  stable to be manufactured outside  of Europe and that's how much confidence the German manufacturer has in this country.
  • And all the equipment at the plant has been shipped from Germany and the workforce too has received extensive training to bring the quality level at par with international standards.

  • BMW G310R is designed to be the basis  for a family of bikes and there will be a half faired and adventure' bike  versions which will   be seen in the market soon. This is the smallest capacity  of all the BMW's currently on sale.
  • There was the R24 but the year was 1948 and that's a long time ago. It's design is as modern as it comes. And we can see the connection between the BMW S1000R and R1200R in terms of the styling and this is where BMW wins you over.
  • Yeah.. , there is a hint of the Bajaj Pulsar in the look too, but that's one aspect that can be completely overlooked. But it shows its roots when you see the angular side panels, which are almost identical to those on the S1000R while the headlamp and small shroud which have a bit of R1200R in them. But it's the engine that will be the most talked about part of the G310R and that is because it's a 313cc, single-cylinder, four-valve liquid-cooled engine, with double overhead camshafts and fuel injection. The engine has been designed to work across the globe and with all sorts of fuel quality. According to the folks at BMW Motorrad, the engine produces 34bhp at 9500rpm and 28Nm of torque at 7500rpm.
  • And this engine design sees the cylinder head twisted around by 180-degrees but the cylinder is also canted backwards. According to the people at BMW, the advantages are both in allowing a straight pathway for the fuel and air mixture into the engine but also in the general architecture of the bike with a lower centre of gravity and allow for a longer swingarm and therefore more stable handling. And there is also some technology lifted straight from the S1000RR engine which punches out 200bhp and that is the Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) on the rocker arms. This helps in reducing friction.
BMW G310R
BMW G310R

  • This "BMW" G310R is built with tubular steel to keep costs down and benefits from a long swingarm for handling stability. In terms of  suspension, the new G 310 R has a torsionally stiff, highly robust  tubular steel frame in grid structure with bolt-on rear frame. The front  wheel suspension is taken care of by a solid upside-down fork while at the rear there is an aluminium swinging arm in conjunction  with a spring  strut that is mounted on it directly. The wheelbase is 1374mm and BMW has used the lightweight but strong five-spoke 17-ichn wheels which add to the big bike look of the G310R. Like all BMW motorcycles, the new G 310 R is fitted  with ABS as standard. It combines a powerful brake system  with 2-channel ABS. At the front wheel, a single-disc brake with radially bolted 4-piston fixed caliper  and a brake disc diameter of 300 millimetres ensures powerful and stable deceleration.  At the rear, this function is performed  by a 2-piston floating caliper in conjunction with a 240-millimetre brake disc. The G 310 R instrument cluster has a large liquid crystal display that offers excellent clarity and a wide range of information.
