Overview

             The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 has been  working hard from a long time  to define  what the company thinks of sport biking and finally a name has  arrived for the much awaited spirit of racing. A  totally new  name for Indian bike categories signifies the  importance  of racing DNA in the  new Bajaj Pulsar RS200.

             And the  most  advanced Pulsar yet, the  new Bajaj Pulsar 200 RS is nothing less than a super-bike in terms of design. The complicated looking front of RS200 houses projector lamps for increased visibility and style with an addition of LED eyebrows,  which  boosts its aggressiveness  to a new level. Small yet attractive exhaust adds to its racing  appeal. Body cuts and curves are  marvellous and they definitely  will leave all of your side  thoughts  behind.

            The bikes is  1999mm in length, 765mm in width,  1114mm in height and  the bike weighs 165 kg (kerb weight) . The ground  clearance of the  fastest Pulsar is 157mm and the fuel  tank capacity stands at 13 litres.Like other Pulsar bikes, the RS200 also comes equipped with an  analog-digital  instrument console. It features an analog  tachometer with digital speedometer, digital odometer, digital trip-meters  and clock. The ABS version also features an  ABS on/off light.Bajaj Pulsar  is a born performer and evolution took it to a new milestone,' an  unmatched race machine'. The top speed of the bike is 140.8 KMPH and it should cross the 100 KMPH mark in 9.5-9.8 seconds! The  company claimed mileage of RS200 is 54 KMPL (@ constant speed of 58 KMPH) and you can expect it to  return real-world figure  of around 30-35 KMPL in city and 40-45 KMPL on highways.

     

              Expectations remained the same; the new Pulsar RS 200 is still imagined with the 200 NS engine. But for RS200, Bajaj has  launched the Fi (Fuel Injected) version of the 199.5cc engine. The Fi version produces 24.2 BHP (24.5 PS) @ 9750 rpm which definitely shatters  the enemy's wining desire. A max torque of 18.6 NM @ 8000 rpm is produced. Comparatively, the Non-Fi 200NS develops  maximum power and maximum torque of 23.17 Bhp @ 9500  rpm and 18.3 Nm @ 8000 rpm  respectively. The engine houses six gears, each for a perfect shift and a  considerable lead.Braking of a racing bike is much more important than its accelerating  power and for a Pulsar, which burst out like a forest fire, a 300 mm butterfly petal disc with floating caliper has  been used at the front and a 230 mm butterfly petal disc for the rear has been used. ABS has been kept optional  for the new performer. 60 to  0 kmph timings have  gone significantly down with these advanced arrangements. RS200 also comes  equipped with single channel ABS  system. Suspension at work is the telescopic front forks  with anti-friction  bush and nitrox mono shock absorber with Canister at the rear.

             As  expected, the 17 inch pair manages  the ride and the rider  throughout  the ups and  downs on the road. 110/70 tubeless tyre for the front and 130/70 tubeless for the rear  guarantees superior  track performance as well as comfortable city ride  through the bumps. Split seats with proper finishing for the pillion makes the ride more comfortable. The same  iconic  handlebars have been used which fills the rider with an urge to race and defeat whatever comes  in the way. The seat height of Pulsar RS200 is 810mm.With an outstanding design, the new pulsar  defines a class of racers who have no limits, no rules to be followed. But now on customer demand Bajaj has  finally launched the  black shade in Pulsar RS200 and it is known as Demon Black. The bike is available  in 2 variants – Standard (non-ABS) and one with ABS .             The "Bajaj Avenger 220 Street" is good looking and be smart. Bajaj is back on the  news with its all new machine, the Bajaj Avenger Street 220. The expectations from Bajaj has been perfectly  overdone this time, making the newcomer  look more  like a premium  cruiser from a bigger segment of motorcycles. The Street 220 gets its very special  place in the hearts of cruiser lovers  and brings life  back to the Avenger  nameplate. Underpinnings being same as its cousin, both o f them are like north and south when compared to each other.

About 220 Street

            The "Avenger 220 Stree"t gets an all new Matte Black paint shade with matching dark theme alloy wheels. It comes with a blackened street control  handlebar, wider rear tyre and a new semi digital speedometer pod. The brand new logo sits with the Avenger name  within its casing. The front suspension gets a cover and the rear backrest  goes missing from the  Street version.

              The "Avenger 220 Street" measures 2177 mm  in length, 801 mm in width and 1070 mm in height. It gets a wheelbase of 1490 mm and comes with 169 mm of ground clearance. The bike weighs 150 kg. The seat height for the bike is 725 mm. The instrument console  on the new 220 Street has been practically divided into two pods. The bigger pod on the handlebar assembly gets  an analogue speedometer with a small LED display for odometer and trip-meter readings. The other pod  has been placed on the fuel tank and co-incidentally, it is an analogue fuel indicator. The arrangement  is neat and looks very good on the dark appeal of the motorcycle.

              The so Many of the Bajaj fans would literally think  that they have won a jackpot after buying the Avenger 220 Street. This comes due to its hard  resemblance with the Harley's entry level cruiser, the Street 750. Even  the names  are close, making the Avenger feel dearer to the American  motorcycle maker. The basic resembling view is the side-view whereas the front and  rear easily differentiates the bike from other cruisers.The alloy design can be blamed for this upcoming  controversy as it makes it loose its identity. The seats look perfect for  a cruiser and the back support for the  pillion goes missing this time, adding a grab-rail only. The word Street has been  justified as it losses on some real comforts  like footsteps and longer handlebars. The dark theme makes the new  Street 220 a head-turner for its segment. All the chrome parts have been perfectly shadowed in this new  Street avatar.

              The engine on the new Avenger 220 Street is  the same 219.9cc, 4-Stroke, Single  Cylinder unit with maximum power and  maximum torque of 18.8 Bhp (19.03 PS) and 17.5 Nm respectively. The  gearbox is a 5-speed unit and the Avenger feels more like a  newly dressed machine than an all new bike.

               The "Bajaj Avenger 220 Street" performs really well with its  approximate 115-120 kmph of top speed. It gets a high performance DTS-i engine returning an approximate  mileage of around 30-40 kmpl. With just 2 kg increase in its  weight over the 150 cc version, 220 Street gets excellent  running dynamics.

               The "Bajaj Avenger Street 220" comes with a single front disc brake only. It was expected with a rear disc brake but unfortunately missed on the same. The front suspension is telescopic forks covered with rubber coils whereas the rear gets hydraulic shock absorbers for both sides. The tyre size for the front stays 90/90-17 whereas the rear gets a fat 130/90-15 tyre. This makes the bike more stable and increases its overall street appeal.

             New "Avenger 220 Street" comes with low seat height, further pushing it good with its cushioned wide seat for a comfortable ride. The pillion gets a grab-rail option and the bike comes with a short, street based handlebar for commanding sitting posture. It gets bigger tyres, better braking and a list of accessories for a safe journey every time.

           The dark appeal Avenger 220 Street  is available in just Matt Black shade. The price has been kept at INR 85,500 (ex-showroom Delhi). The whole new phenomenon of segment  distribution by Bajaj has made it easy for the customer to choose a product from each one on  the list. 

         The Avenger 220 Street is a  whole different world in its own. It gets a powerful appeal from its performance as well as styling parts. The Bajaj Avenger  220 Cruise, as the variant has been  named is more about the face-lifted version of the 2014 model of 220cc Avenger. The bike gets the same imposing  low stance  being offered by the Avenger 220 with  a host of additions to its  overall looks. It even now gets its own  Avenger logo on the fuel tank.

            The 220 Cruise  gets all-new graphic  elements around its body panels . Use of Chrome has been further enhanced for a more premium look.              The Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220 comes in Divine Black shade and Desert Gold. It is priced at INR 85,500 (ex-showroom Delhi) and makes a good deal  for those who believe in the truth  of a real comfortable ride on a long  highway stretch. Even the  handlebar design with  the Cruise 220 has been named as 'Highway Comfort'.And Comfort of the rider is enhanced by the low seat height and perfectly placed handlebar for relaxed riding. The pillion gets a rear backrest, further  enhancing he comfort as well as keeping the pillion safe in case of sudden acceleration. The windshield  at the front saves  the riders  from wind blasts. Other comfortable features include its electric starter and  comfortable long ride footsteps. The braking on the  front of Avenger Cruise 220 is managed by a 260 mm disc  brake whereas the rear gets a  drum brake only. The front suspension is telescopic forks whereas the rear uses traditional hydraulic shock absorbers at  both the sides. The bike has  been typically defined for long rides  and gets a relaxed suspension setup and  a good amount of braking power.  ABS has been  missed over  from the bike. The front  wheel measures 90/90-17 whereas the rear wheel is  130/90-15.

           The Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise gets an approximate top speed of around 115-120 kmph. It gets wind free ride  with its large windshield and returns a mileage of around 30-40 kmpl (approx.).                  KTM duke 200 bike is simply and stylish looking. Overview of Bajaj acquiring majority stake in the Astrain bikemaker KTM. It was a matter of time since the bikemker made its foray into our market and indian Two Wheeler enthusiasts were waiting with bated breath. KTM didn't disappoint as it rode in the 200 duke which was its first offering for india. This bike was a step in the right direction as it was a good combination of performance, features and good pricing and awesome looking.
                 It was launched with only one colour option Orange. But on demand and feedback from customers KTM has launched two new colours 1. White 2. Black.

                The KTM Duke 200 bike was very sharp and edgy lines in conjunction with brash styling meant that the bike was a huge hit among the youngsters who were blown away by its raw appeal. The sculpted fuel tank, petite tail section, split seats, exposed trellis frame, under belly exhaust and the lack of any bodywork made the KTM duke 200 stand apart from its rivals.

                And the fact that it was introduced in a flashy shade of orange further hiked its appeal. The bike employs an all digital instument console that houses a plethora of information and is among the best in the segment.

                But the cluttered layout means that it isn't easy to read on the go. Switch gear has been sourced from Bajaj vendors and is impressive. And Fit and finish is decent overall but expects better quality overall from a european bikemaker.
             
                And powering the bike is a 199.5cc displacement motor belting out 26PS of power. Performance is among the highlghts of the KTM 200 Duke as the 130kg kerb weight endows it with an impressive power to weight ratio. The motor is free revving and has a typical exhaust not and cruissive speeds above 100kmph doesn;t take any effort barring for the wind blast. The powerplant is mated to a 6 SPEED gearbox that functions aply while the gear ratios aren't ideal for crawling city traffic. Handling of the bike is impressive as it tips into corner at the drop of a heart and thrashing the bike around twistis is a joy. The lively handling can be credited to the trellis frame. Ride quality is on the stiffer side as handling has been given preference over comfort and the upside down forks and monoshock unti have been stiffy sprung.
                  The KTM 200 duke bike is a great option for someone who is looking for a commuter bike on weekdays and prefers to go bonkers on the race track in weekends.

                 The KTM promotes the instrument console of Duke as cockpit which features a digital speedmeter, trip meter, odometer and fuel gauge. This cockpit also has some LED indicators. The bike uses ornge coloured back light in its instrument console. The instrument console is not easily readable and apart from its speedometer, we will have to search for other things in it as it compromises on space. 

Engine and Gearbox

            The KTM 200 duke bike uses a single cylinder liquid cooled 200cc engine. This 4 stroke, DOHC engine is very powerful as it chums out a maximum power output of 25 bhp at 1000 rpm. The torque output of this engine is 19.2 Nm which is available at 8000 rpm. The bike is equipped with a six speed manual gearbox with  one gear down and five gear up shift pattern. 

Price

 The KTM 200 duke bike cost is INR 1,42,000 {New Delhi}. At this price it seems to be little overpriced for a 200cc bike but 200 duke is awesome in terms of looks and stylish and is also a very powerfull 200cc.

The Honda Hornet 160R is very good looking and smart. And this 162.71cc new  entrant  replaces Honda CB Trigger  and seems to be  based on the  concept bike  CX-01 that was showcased at the auto exposition last year.  Competing against niche players like  Suzuki Gixxer, Hero Xtreme Sports, Yamaha  FZ-S FI, Bajaj Pulsar AS150 and TVS Apache  RTR160, Hornet  160R comes as a powerhouse performer imbued with style, comfortable and drivability.  Built upon a  tubular diamond frame,  the bike has aerodynamic styling that exudes sporty  looks by combining features such as a trapezoidal headlamp, a chiselled 12 litres fuel tank with sleek  surrounding panels and shrouds, a pointed cowl with an X shaped LED tail lamp, an upwardly inclined exhaust, and robust suspensions (dual telescopic forks at the  front and a  monoshock  one at  the rear), respectively.The single cushy seat has split grab rails for the pillion rider to be comfortable. The headlamp gets its design cues from Unicorn 160 but incorporates halogen pilot lamps for better illumination. 

The "Honda Hornet 160R" burns the  tarmac by riding on 17 inches  tubular tyres  wound on multi spoke alloy  wheels. The bike  is available in two variants first one having a single petal  disc as brakes and second one having  dual petal discs as brakes along with CBS (Combi Braking System).  The latter braking mechanism would trigger  the rear brakes to function  should the rider applies the front ones. The bike is made available in five vibrant colours of Neo Orange Metallic, Sports Red, Pearl Amazing White,  Pearl Siren Blue and Pearl Nightstar Black. In terms of dimensions, the newbie from Honda sport 2041mm in length, 1345mm of wheelbase, 1067mm in height, and 783mm in breadth.

Performance and Handling of Honda Hornet 160R

The company  claims  Honda Hornet 160R  to notch up a top speed of110Kmph, besides garnering a higher acceleration. The  HET based engine  of this bike  reduces engine  weight as well as friction. Its ground clearance of 164mm keeps it  considerably above  the ground such that brushing against bumps is not a concern  and it can smoothly ride over a thin  sheet of water. And the high  mounted handle bar and digital instrument  console provide stability  and apprise the rider of important bike parameters.  A dual  tone front mud  guard prevents splashes of water or dirt from reaching the rider and both for the rider, comfortable foot pegs and pillion rider, enhance riding pleasure.

With a displacement of 1.8-liters, the smaller unit sends 170 horsepower and 200 lb-ft. of torque to the front wheels via a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. The third engine option is a 2.0-liter TDI turbodiesel  unit that generates 150 horsepower between 3,500 and 4,000 rpms and  236 lb-ft. of torque from 1,750 to 3,000 rpms. It  sends the A3 from zero to 60 mph in 8.1 seconds and returns 31 mpg in the city and an impressive 43 mpg on the highway.  It is bolted to a six-speed dual-clutch transmission that  spins the front wheels only.

Audi offers the Audi  A3 Sedan in three trim levels: Premium, Premium plus and Prestige.Premium comes  standard with leather  upholstery, a multi-function steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, a 12-way power driver's seat, a ten-speaker stereo system, a driver  information system integrated into the instrument  cluster, a 90-day trial subscription to SiriusXM Satellite Radio, Bluetooth connectivity, a SD card slot, automatic wipers and  headlights, Xenon headlights, LED tail lamps, power mirrors,  parking sensors, a rear-view  camera and heated mirrors/washer nozzles.Stepping up to Premium plus adds automatic  climate control, heated front seats, a 12-way adjustable  passenger seat, iPod integration as well as keyless start, stop and entry.Prestige builds upon the first two  trims with S line exterior trim, navigation, Audi Connect, an upgraded sound system built by Bang & Olufsen and LED  headlights.

Optional Equipment

A3 sadan  premium customers can  select a cold weather package, an aluminum trim package and a navigation/infotainment bundle.And selecting Premium Plus allows buyers to choose from more extras, including the Driver Assistance Package with rearview camera and park assist,  an upgraded Bang & Olufsen sound system and a Convenience Package with heated, power-adjustable front seats and park assist. Of note, the navigation system is bundled with Audi Connect on the Premium plus. And finally, the A3 Prestige  can be further upgraded with adaptive cruise control, Audi pre sense  front and active lane  assist, and with a Sport Package that groups  sport seats, a unique steering wheel  and selectable  driving modes.

Occupant Safety

All Audi  A3 Sedans regardless of trim level and engine  come standard with driver and front passenger airbags, knee airbags  as well as front and rear side and head  curtain airbags.

          This is the latest performance motorcycle from TVS Motor and, in turn, becoming the flagship model of the Chennai-based company. And the best looking  Apache till date, the design is a beautiful extension of  the RTR series along with important cues from  the Draken concept (shown in 2014 Auto Expo). With an aggressive looking headlight assembly and  LED DRLs on, it looks  sophisticated and menacing at the same time. The fuel tank is the most aggressively designed unit till date with sharp and edgy tank extensions  sporting ‘Apache  RTR’ moniker. The seats are another aesthetically designed pieces, with a split  setup for the rider and pillion. The grab-rails are beautiful, yet practical, and so is the LED tail light which looks nothing like  in previous Apache  motorcycles. And the overall build quality, fit and  finish of various parts is  extremely impressive and in 5 new different  matt  colours,

            This is the most stunning and  aggressive looking  motorcycle from TVS so far. The engine is all-new and the ‘4V’ stands  for 4-Valves. The 200cc engine  is a race-derived O3C unit (Oil-cooled Combustion Chamber)  and is fed either  by a Bosch-Closed Loop fuel injection system or a Keihin CV carburetor. The Carburetor-fed engine produces 20.5PS of maximum power at 8500RPM while the FI variant produces slightly higher 21PS at the same 8500RPM.  Also, the torque output is same in both Carb & FI engines  which is 18.1NM at 7000RPM. For the first time in a TVS engine, the cylinder has 4 valves and is cooled by oil-cooling technology.Although, it remains  largely air-cooled. It is the smoothest  RTR engine by far with some vibrations coming up only around 8000RPM. With more power comes better acceleration, and the new RTR races from 0 to 60 in just 3.9 seconds (3.95 for the Carb) and in just 12 seconds to the  100. Combined  all this with a 5-speed gearbox and you’ve got the quickest  and fastest Apache RTR ever built by TVS with a top speed of 129km/h. However, the safety is paramount as well and both petal discs at front and  rear are aided by optional ABS. Not just that, since the tagline  says “Every day Is Race Day”, the RTR 200 has a Lap-Timer and Top Speed indicators in the fully digital console unit. These are important information because the new frame, which TVS calls,  the Double Cradle Split Synchro Stiff  Frame  along with mono-shock  at the rear provide sporty and  involving  handling characteristics. And when it's time to hit a race track, the Lap Timer would come in handy  to see how fast you’ve been through the circuit. The Apache RTR 200 4V is TVS’s best so far and gives us a glimpse  of even more exciting motorcycles in the future.
